What the criteria are: IEDC's Excellence Awards are judged by a panel of economic development professionals against the quality of the work, the clarity of the story it tells, and the results it produced for the community — evaluated within a population-size peer group so organizations compete against comparable communities.
Why it matters to you: Economic development annual reports get read by city councils, site selectors, and state officials. Winning gold means the design held up under exactly the kind of scrutiny your board or leadership team will apply.

What the criteria are: Same judged program as above — a peer-reviewed panel scoring creativity, communication effectiveness, and community impact.
Why it matters to you: Back-to-back recognition on the same account is the harder version of the trick. It says the first one wasn't luck.
