Project Overview
The Partnership
The Tomball Economic Development Corporation drives business investment, job creation, and community growth across one of the Houston area's fastest-growing cities. They needed a creative partner who could translate complex economic data and civic milestones into compelling, design-forward communications — year after year.
What started as an annual report assignment grew into a long-term creative retainer covering print, digital advertising, and social media — a full-spectrum visual identity for a city on the move.
The Challenge
More Than a Report
Annual reports for economic development organizations carry a lot of weight. They're reviewed by city councils, business prospects, and state officials. They have to be accurate and thorough — but also visually strong enough to communicate momentum, trust, and ambition at a glance.
Beyond the annual report, Tomball EDC also needed ads that cut through the noise in competitive business attraction markets, and social content that reflected the city's authentic community character — not just dry economic metrics.
Our Approach
Design-Led. Data-Driven.
We built a design system rooted in Tomball EDC's brand — one that could flex across annual reports, print ads, digital placements, and social media without losing its cohesion. Every annual report was structured to tell a narrative arc: where the city was, where it's going, and the proof points that back it up. Charts and data visualizations were treated as design elements, not afterthoughts. The result was a body of work that earned national recognition from the International Economic Development Council.
